What is Happening?

A quick message from Jordan

Dear IndexForum Community,

I hope this message finds you all well. I want to take a moment to address the recent events that have been affecting our community, and website. Furthermore, I want to apologize for any confusion and concerns that many of you might have due to the lack of communication on my end, and the recent downtime of our website.

As some of you may know, I have been away on vacation for some time. During my absence, it appears that our forum experienced several events that have caused uncertainty and frustration among the community. Most recently, our website has gone under a "Distributed Denial of Service" (DDoS) attack, which led to the temporary shutdown of our website. I want to assure you all that I am actively working to resolve the situation.

Current Satus:

I am diligently working with our host to mitigate the effects of the DDoS attack and bring our forum back online as soon as possible. While these attacks are unfortunate, they are unfortunately a part of the reality of online communities. Rest assured, that I am taking every possible measure to safeguard our forum, and your data.

As some of you may recall, a couple months ago we were supposed to migrate RIF to its own server and new infrastructure (which would have had DDoS protection). Unfortunately, other unforeseen circumstances prevented that from happening the day it was meant to. Shortly after which, I would be going on vacation.

We will be taking the time to be setting up a temporary host for the website while our server is getting ready for migration. I hope you guys can be patient during this time.

Communication Breakdown:

I also acknowledge that the lack of communication from me during this period added to the concerns of our community. I deeply apologize for not keeping you informed about the situation. Although I will be making an announcement about this once the forums are live, let's focus on getting the website up and running for now. Moving forward, I am committed to maintaining more transparent and timely communication regarding any issues that affect our forum. Just as promised, and as most of you have come to learn and love about RIF.

Dear Devin,

I wanted to also take a special moment to express my heartfelt gratitude specifically to Devin, who has been a rock of support and guidance for our community. Devin's unwavering commitment to you all, even during the times of uncertainty, has been nothing short of amazing.

Devin has actively been engaging with you all, providing updates, and ensuring that your voices are heard. Devin's efforts have gone beyond just administrative duties - they have extended to fostering a sense of togetherness among you and have even personally paid monetary value to keep the site up.

Devins dedication reminds us of the strength and resilience that our community holds. It's individuals like Devin who make our forum a special place, and I am grateful to have had him on the team.

Withdrawls

So what is happening with everyone's withdrawals? They will be paid! Some of the withdrawals have already been processed. I will keep the community updated on the progress and status of withdrawal processing. As soon as the site is back online and I have a clear overview of the situation, I will communicate the steps to initiate the withdrawal process. Please bear with us as we work to bring the forum back to its optimal functioning state.

Your Trust Matters:

I understand that trust is fundamental in our community, and I am dedicated to upholding that trust. Your patience during this time is greatly appreciated, and I want to assure you that I am doing everything in my power to address this situation effectively.

If you have any specific concerns or questions about the community, withdrawals, or any other aspect of our forum, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Thank you all for your understanding, support, and patience as we navigate through these challenges. Together we will overcome this situation and continue to thrive as a strong and united community.
